Portraits

Portraits are a difficult proposition.  They require trust between the photographer and the subject. Both have to be willing to take chance and explore the medium with each other.  When all that happens, the result is striking and often unexpected.

I had such an experience last week in Springfield, MO, when I was privileged to photograph musician, Stacey Sanders, from Enid, OK.  We had never met in person before and had only about an hour to complete our session because of the cold and rainy weather.  I spoke with him and his wife, Kay, shared what I hoped we could do, and asked if they were good with that.  They were and we got to it.

The result was a session that gave us a number of truly amazing images - like the one in this post - and accomplished our shared vision.  Check out some additional images on my "portraits" page.

Later that evening, I got to hear Stacey play live for the first time, and that too was amazing.

If this is the sort of experience - and outcome - that you are hoping for in a portrait session, please contact me.  In the meantime, check out Stacey's website; I think you might just enjoy his music as much as I do.
